Meet Mark Nescio

Mark Nescio was born in 1965 in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. His journey into carpentry began in high school woodshop, where he crafted early projects like tables and jewelry boxes. After graduating in 1983, Mark moved to Southern New Jersey for college, where he balanced working as a cook while honing his carpentry skills by building furniture for classmates, including bunk beds and fish tank stands. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Photography from Stockton State College in 1988.

Following college, Mark spent a decade as a freelance photographer, capturing various events such as weddings and sporting occasions. In 1992, he met his future wife during a ski trip at Pico Mountain and relocated to Boston shortly thereafter. While pursuing photography, Mark began selling stained glass rooters at craft fairs throughout New England.

Throughout his varied career paths, Mark nurtured his passion for carpentry, operating as a freelance carpenter until 1996, when he founded Tailgate Carpentry & Home Repair as his full-time endeavor. His unique background enables him to blend aesthetics and functionality in his work seamlessly.
